A Elopement at Sun Point & Montana Recap

As a photographer, there's nothing quite like the thrill of capturing love in a stunning location, and Glacier National Park provided the perfect backdrop for a recent elopement shoot. The park's breathtaking scenery made it an ideal setting for these intimate moments.

We chose to shoot at Big Bend and Sun Point, two of Glacier’s most picturesque spots along the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The rugged beauty of the landscape, combined with the serene atmosphere, made every shot feel magical.

This styled shoot was made possible thanks to the incredible team of photographers and creatives who helped bring the vision to life:

Our models, @bodybyoaklee, brought their energy and love to every frame. The artistry of @lizavinocosmo on makeup and @_shear_sarah_ on hair added a polished and elegant touch. The stunning hats from @colliercustomhats and the beautiful dress from @cherrytreelane1 perfectly complemented the natural surroundings. And of course, the florals from @wildflower_portland added that final touch of romance.

Glacier National Park is truly one of the most beautiful places I’ve had the privilege to shoot in. Whether you’re planning an elopement or just love photography, this location is nothing short of inspirational.

If you’re dreaming of a unique and unforgettable elopement, Glacier National Park might just be the perfect place for you.

Discovering Montana: A Journey Through the Big Sky Country

Montana’s vast landscapes and stunning natural beauty make it an ideal destination for an unforgettable road trip. Here’s a glimpse into my travels through this incredible state.

Glacier National Park

First on the list was Glacier National Park, a true gem. Securing a vehicle reservation is essential for exploring the park’s highlights. I spent time hiking around Many Glacier and took in the serene views on the 2.9-mile trail around Swiftcurrent Lake. For a delicious meal, the Lake McDonald Lodge offered a fantastic steak.

Driving the Going-to-the-Sun Road was a highlight of the trip. The scenic route includes must-stop spots such as Big Bend, Logan Pass, and Sun Point at St. Mary. After soaking in the park’s beauty, I extended my stay in Kalispell, a nearby town with great food, shopping, and convenient access to Glacier National Park.

Choteau, Montana

Next, I headed to Choteau and stayed at the Highlander Tiny Cabin. This cozy retreat was perfect with its hot tub, heated floors, and fireplaces. The occasional mule deer sightings added a touch of nature right outside the door. If you’re looking to book, you can find it here: [Highlander Tiny Cabin](https://www.airbnb.com/slink/vcYe3J7t).

Helena-Lewis and Clark National Forest

An unexpected stop turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip. Helena, nestled among canyons, was a pleasant surprise. I hiked the Missouri River Beaver Creek Trail, which, while challenging with its rock scramble, offered rewarding views and a good workout.

Yellowstone National Park

Yellowstone was my favorite park of the trip. Its incredible views, diverse wildlife, and natural wonders set it apart. I recommend visiting Lamar Valley for breathtaking sunset animal viewing. Other top spots include Grand Prismatic Springs, Mount Washburn, Yellowstone Lake, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Sunrise or sunset in Lamar Valley is particularly rewarding for spotting bison and occasionally a bear.

Big Sky, Montana

Our main base was Big Sky, where the resort offers year-round activities. We enjoyed zip-lining and ski lifts, and there were plenty of other options like white-water rafting, horseback riding, and mountain biking. One of the most intense but worthwhile experiences was the Lava Lake hike. The 6-mile trek featured stunning elevation changes and culminated in a refreshing, ice-cold lake.

Feel free to reach out with any questions about these destinations—I’d love to share more about my Montana adventure!
